| This popular 17th Century Coaching Inn is situated just ½ mile from Junction 33 of the M6 motorway in the rural village of Galgate, just South of Lancaste. Galgate, meaning 'the road to Scotland' from the Old English 'Gal-gata’, runs almost parallel alongside the Lancaster canal and the main West London to Glasgow railway line. The Plough has a particularly warm and welcoming interior, with beams, horse brasses, copper pans, drinking pots and period prints contributing to the traditional look.
