This popular 17th Century Coaching Inn is situated just ½ mile from Junction 33 of the M6 motorway in the rural village of Galgate, just South of Lancaste. Galgate, meaning 'the road to Scotland' from the Old English 'Gal-gata’, runs almost parallel alongside the Lancaster canal and the main West London to Glasgow railway line. The Plough has a particularly warm and welcoming interior, with beams, horse brasses, copper pans, drinking pots and period prints contributing to the traditional look. During the winter months their traditional open fire makes for a cosy retreat!
